The Santa's Special is a staple race on the Striders calendar. The 4.5mile, 2 lap route, like the Kimmy Kanter, starts and finishes next to Millmoor Juniors training ground and is predominantly run on trails through the surrounding woodland. Be warned though, it's not a flat course and as the race is run in December, it's normally a bit nippy and the trails are rarely dry!

The race is normally held on the second Sunday morning of December, with the prize giving and refreshments available afterwards in a local pub.

As with the Kimmy Kanter and the Canal Race, the Santa's Special race forms part of the 'KMR' series held in conjunction with Maltby Running Club and Rotherham Harriers.
